The Considerate Consumer (hereinafter ‘TCC’) is committed to respect and protect your personal data. In compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter ‘GDPR’), this privacy statement sets out the basis on which we will process any
personal information that we may collect about you. We, therefore, ask you to read this privacy statement carefully.
TCC is committed to protecting your personal information, we collect only the personal information needed to interact with you or that we are required to collect by law and we take all the relevant protection measures.

 

The information we collect about you & why


When you visit our websites, TCC and its service provider (Squarespace) may collect personal information from you. “Personal Information” is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable person. TCC collects the personal information that you provide, such as your name, organisation name (if applicable), email address, phone number, postal address, bank or billing information (if applicable).

We may collect and store personal information

That you give to TCC by using our website, subscribing to newsletters, contacting us,
becoming a sponsor or donor, responding to a job posting, donating to our initiatives, or
via social media and campaigns.

That our website collects about you for statistical purposes, for instance, marketing
research. This statistical data helps us to monitor the effectiveness of our product.

As previously stated, our service provider may collect personal information, such as information necessary to analyse visitors’ marketing preferences. TCC does not receive this information from the service provider and is therefore not responsible for the collection of information. By submitting personal information through our website and our other platforms related to other people, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and that they consent with the use of their personal information in accordance with this Data Privacy Policy.

Information collected via payment processing systems:

All online donation transactions are handled by Payment Card Industry (PCI)-compliant vendors. PCI refers to the technical and operational standards that businesses must follow to ensure that credit card data provided by cardholders are protected. These security standards are in place for TCC to protect your information.

TCC does not retain any credit card information submitted through its chosen payment processing systems.

Your Personal Information may be disclosed:

To our service providers who provide payment processing services, website hosting, data analysis, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, email delivery, and other similar services.


For how long we intend to retain your data

TCC intends to keep your personal information accurate and up-to-date. We will delete the information that we hold about you when they are no longer of use or sooner upon your request unless we have a legal obligation to retain it for a longer period (e.g. in case of legal investigations that concern, inter alia, your information).

We keep all personal information related to a financial transaction, securely saved in our accounting and contact database, for as long as we have an active relationship and thereafter, only for as long as we are legally obliged to keep this information for auditing purposes.

Personal information collected in the context of recruitment will be kept on our internal database for two months for follow-up.


System information we may collect from you
& how we use it

Through Google Analytics, we collect system information for administration and statistical purposes. System information refers to data such as information about your computer or device, including your IP address.

● You can require any inaccurate personal information to be corrected or you can require that we delete information about you.

You can also lodge a complaint about our processing of your personal information with the body regulating data protection in your country.


Third-party disclaimer

We are only responsible for the personal information we collect. We do not transfer data to third parties, besides data that is automatically processed by service providers.
This Privacy Policy does not address, and we cannot be held liable, for the data protection practices of any third parties, including social networks, third parties operating our tools and website, or third parties to which the website links.
